2021 Council Election Results

We are pleased to announce the results of the College’s 2021 Council Election.

Four candidates ran for two Council member positions for the 2021-2024 Council term. The successful candidates were:

Hardeep Fervaha, RM
Alexia Singh, RM

We congratulate and look forward to Hardeep and Alexia serving as professional members on our Council. Their terms will begin in October.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Alexandria Nickels and current Council member Maureen Silverman for their candidacies.

The College of Midwives of Ontario is self-regulated, and its Council makes important decisions about the College’s strategy, as well as standards, by-laws, and other documents. Council members also sit on the College’s statuatory committees.

The election was conducted in accordance with the College’s by-laws and internal procedures. A total of 401 members (38% of 1045 eligible voters) cast ballots, and the election results were verified and scrutinized for fraud analysis by the election platform host and by College staff who administered the election.

Thank you again to everyone who voted, and to all those who stood for election.

Our College is made better by your contributions.

Sincerely,

Kelly Dobbin
Registrar
