The College’s New Strategic Plan 2026-2029

The College’s new strategic plan came into effect on April 1, 2026. The creation of the new plan was led by College staff in collaboration with Board Directors and Committee members and was informed by system partners, midwives, and members of the public. We’re excited to share highlights of our new plan which moves us forward in areas of equity, reconciliation, engagement, collaboration, and in our regulatory duties set out in legislation.

Special Board Meeting Highlights

The College of Midwives of Ontario Board held a special meeting on September 23, 2025. At this meeting, the Board voted unanimously to submit a proposal to the Ministry of Health to add the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) monoclonal antibody to the list of drugs and substances that midwives can prescribe and administer.

March Board Highlights

At their March meeting, the College’s Board approved a balanced budget with a freeze on registrant fees, discussed midwifery registration numbers, considered plans for governance modernization, and more.

Notice of By-Election

The College of Midwives of Ontario will be holding Board elections from May 12, 2025 to June 11, 2025, to fill one vacancy for a Professional Director position.

December Board Highlights
