Dear members,

Thank you again to everyone who voted for our College of Midwives of Ontario Council members this past month.  A total of 204 members cast their votes; 24.29% of all eligible voters.

The election was conducted in accordance with the College’s by-laws and internal procedures, and the results were verified by an external auditor and the College staff who administered the election.

Eight candidates ran for three Council member positions for the 2017-2020 Council term commencing in October. The successful candidates are:

  • Lisa Nussey
  • Claire Ramlogan-Salanga
  • Edan Thomas

Congratulations to Lisa, Claire, and Edan, and welcome to the College of Midwives of Ontario Council!

The College and Council would also like to take this opportunity to thank Carron Canning and Claudette Leduc for their contributions to our Council over the years, their devotion to the families that our College serves to protect, and for their willingness to run for election this year.

We also thank midwives Christi Johnston, Shannon Cameron, and Crystal Hall for putting their names forward as candidates in this election.

The College of Midwives of Ontario Council met last week, and midwife Tiffany Haidon was acclaimed as the College of Midwives of Ontario’s Council President.  Please join us in welcoming Tiffany in this role.

You can read the agenda and meeting materials from our June 28th meeting here, and the meeting minutes will be posted when approved.  All of our Council meetings are open to the public and midwives are invited to join.  We post the agenda and meeting materials on our website in advance of each Council meeting.

Thank you again to everyone who took the time to vote, and to stand for election. Our College is made better by your contributions.

Sincerely,

Kelly Dobbin

Registrar
