The College requested legislative changes needed to provide clients with more direct access to care by adding authorized acts such as communicating a diagnosis and intubation of a newborn, expanding the midwifery scope of practice. In December 2009, legislative changes came into effect through Bill 179, An Act to Amend Various Acts Related to Regulated Health Professions and Certain Other Acts.
