Neonatal Resuscitation Program, CPR, and Emergency Skills Requirements
Practising midwives are required to regularly fulfill training in neonatal resuscitation (NRP), cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and emergency skills (ES). NRP certification must be completed every 12 months. CPR and ES certification must be completed every two years at renewal.
The Continuing Competency Requirements and Approved Courses document outlines the training courses that have been approved by the College and how applicants and midwives can provide satisfactory evidence of continuing competency in NRP, CPR, and ES.
The College only accepts certification from approved courses, so it’s important to confirm the training you attend is on the approved list.
If you are an applicant, we recommend you download and review the requirements document below to become familiar with the expectations around continuing competencies.
