Nominations for Council are now open!

Notice of Elections

The College of Midwives of Ontario will be holding Council elections from June 1, 2022 to June 3o, 2022, to fill three vacancies for professional member positions. Each term consists of a duration of three years. The next term will begin September 28, 2022.

Call for Nominations

The College’s Council makes regulatory decisions in the public interest. In order to make decisions truly reflective of the interests of all Ontarians, we require the expertise and perspectives of individuals with a variety of experiences that represent a range of communities. Based on our current needs, we are particularly encouraging members who are Indigenous, Black, racialized, French-speaking, and/or working in rural or remote practices to help strengthen the diversity of Council or practising in expanded, collaborative and/or community health team models to run for election.

A new strategic plan approved by Council in March 2021 that identifies the key priorities and initiatives the College will be focused on over the next five years. Should you join the Council, you will play an important role in helping direct how these initiatives are fulfilled. You can read the Strategic Plan 2021-2026 to learn more.

We are now accepting nominations for our 2022 Council election. All nomination forms must be received by 5:00pm on Monday, May 2, 2022.

If you are considering putting your name forward for election, please save the date for our upcoming information sessions:

  • Thursday, April 14th, 2022, 12:00-1:00 p.m. – this session is reserved for midwives from Indigenous, Black and racialized communities
  • Thursday, April 21st, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. – open to all midwives

More information on these sessions will be provided to you soon.

The College is also committed to accessibility and reducing barriers to participation. If you are an individual who requires accommodation to participate in the election process or upon election to Council, please select the option to request support available on the nomination form.
