All midwives are required to be up-to-date with their registration, Active Practice Reports, and Quality Assurance Program (QAP) Requirements. The period for renewal and for submitting reports starts August 1, and continues to October 1, 2018.
Please see our webpage for detailed information on how to renew your registration, submit Active Practice Reports, and meet QAP requirements.
1. Registration Renewal
To maintain registration with the College of Midwives of Ontario for the membership year October 1, 2018 to September 30, 2019, all members are required to submit membership fees, complete the online renewal application, and documentation by October 1, 2018. Click here for more information.
2. Active Practice Reports
Members must satisfy the active practice requirements as outlined in the Registration Regulation. Midwives are required to submit their Active Practice Reports by October 1, 2018. Click here for more information on Active Practice Reports.
3. Quality Assurance Program Requirements
The College’s Quality Assurance Program (QAP) is designed to ensure that the knowledge, skill and judgment of Ontario midwives remains current throughout their careers and that they continue to provide safe, effective, appropriate and ethical midwifery care to their clients. All midwives registered in general class (including new registrants), or supervised practice class need to complete the QAP by October 1, 2018. Click here for more information on the QAP.
The window for renewing your registration, submitting your Active Practice Reports and meeting QAP requirements is now open. The College experiences the highest volume of renewals and submissions in the last week before the October 1 deadline, so to avoid any last minute complications, please renew early.
