Toronto Birth Centre and Ottawa Birth Centres opened

There are two publicly funded Ontario Birth Centres, in Ottawa and in Toronto. They are regulated by the College of Midwives of Ontario. Clients who want to give birth in a Birth Centre must be in the care of a midwife with privileges and meet the criteria set by each Birth Centre.
