We are sharing this information now to allow internationally educated midwives to begin gathering their supporting documents for their applications. The College encourages midwives to apply to the program as early as possible after September 8. We will be accepting complete applications on a first-come-first-serve basis. Only complete applications will be accepted and reviewed. <a href=\"https:\/\/cmo.on.ca\/midwives\/internationally-educated-midwives\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">For more information on what is required to apply, please see our website.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is the Orientation and Assessment Pilot Program?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the recent past, internationally educated midwives would have attended the International Midwifery PreregistrationProgram (IMPP) at Toronto Metropolitan University. That program concluded in 2021 and the College committed to ensuring that internationally educated midwife applicants had a route of entry into the profession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Going forward, internationally educated midwives who have not practised in Canada or attended one of Ontario\u2019s Midwifery Education Programs must apply to the Orientation and Assessment Pilot Program to meet one of the requirements for registration to practise in Ontario.
