We have been the regulating body in operation since 1993 and we are a collaborative team that works together to make sure the College fulfills its mandate of regulating in the public interest. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The College is seeking a Director, Professional Practice who will lead and provide strategic direction for both the Professional Practice and Quality Assurance portfolios. The role involves leadership on professional practice matters, establishing evidence-based standards of practice and developing and implementing advisory services. The Director is also responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of the College\u2019s quality assurance mandate through continuous leadership, planning and evaluation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With knowledge of emerging issues and best practices in midwifery and a strong interest in preventing and removing systemic inequities within policy development and quality assurance programs, the Director will oversee the implementation of programs and projects and will work collaboratively on the development and implementation of revised regulation, policy, practice standards, and guides. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Director will also be responsible for organizational and departmental planning, strategic partnerships, operationalising strategic plans, supervising staff, and leading organizational-wide learning and initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Responsibilities:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Expertise and Leadership<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Oversees strategic direction setting and planning for portfolio and related initiatives and aligns portfolio planning and programs with College goals and objectives.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provides supervision of staff and fosters open and effective communication and collaboration across the department and organization.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Establishes the standards of professional practice by evaluating, developing and implementing evidence-based recommendations to guide midwifery practice in the public interest.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provides expert professional practice advice and directs risk impact analysis for the purposes of developing policies, guidelines, tools, Standards of Practice as well as systems improvement and knowledge development.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensures policies, procedures and processes are equitable and consistent with the Regulated Health Professions Act, the Midwifery Act, Standards of Practice, and College Bylaws and leads appropriate change.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitors provincial legislation, law reform initiatives and the external environment to identify policy issues and opportunities for the College.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Oversees registrant compliance with annual Quality Assurance Program reporting including continuing education, professional development, case reviews, and self-assessments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provides leadership for the Quality Assurance Committee and Panels, ensuring decisions are well-informed, fair, and consistent.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provides policy support and expertise to staff, Council, Committees, and working groups.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Responsible for the department\u2019s operational plan, budget, data and information management, and reporting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Builds and maintains strong relationships with relevant partners to advance the mandate of the College.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Qualifications &amp; Competencies:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Degree \/ post graduate degree in a relevant field such as public administration, public policy, public health, research, or law.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A midwife with knowledge of current midwifery regulation and practice.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>5 to 10 years professional \/ practice experience within a challenging regulatory, charity or similar environment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>5 years in progressive leadership\/senior management roles in a related field<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent analytical skills with the intellectual ability to assess complex legal, policy and procedural documents and issues, and make recommendations for action.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proven strategic planning, project management and organizational reporting skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to apply an intersectional equity lens to policy and program analysis and development.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to maintain a long-term perspective while navigating short-term challenges.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to motivate and develop staff and promote high levels of performance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to work under pressure, make decisions and to solve problems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent influencing, relationship management and interpersonal skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Position Package Includes:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Salary \u2013 $126,050 &#8211; $150,000 depending on experience<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent benefits including vision and health insurance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Five weeks paid vacation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Personal\/Sick Days offered<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One extra paid week off over the December Holidays<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Apply: <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The deadline for applications is July 15<sup>th<\/sup>, 2024.
