{"id":8751,"date":"2019-07-22T12:33:00","date_gmt":"2019-07-22T16:33:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cmo.on.ca\/?p=8751"},"modified":"2019-07-22T12:33:00","modified_gmt":"2019-07-22T16:33:00","slug":"regulatory-performance-measurement-framework","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cmo.on.ca\/regulatory-performance-measurement-framework\/","title":{"rendered":"Regulatory Performance Measurement Framework"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Note: <\/strong>This article was originally published in our\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cmo.on.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/2019-07-ON-CALL-Final.pdf\">Summer 2019 edition of our On Call newsletter<\/a><\/strong>, and has not been updated<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Council approved the Regulatory Performance Measurement Framework to be piloted in 2019-2020. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Regulatory Performance Measurement\nFramework was developed after Council approved a new strategic plan in December\n2016 that emphasized the College\u2019s commitment to regulatory excellence,\nopenness, and accountability. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In accordance with s. 2.1 of the Health\nProfessions Procedural Code, which is Schedule 2 in the <em>Regulated Health\nProfessions Act, 1991<\/em> (RHPA), the College has a duty to ensure, as a matter\nof public interest, that the people of Ontario have access to adequate numbers\nof qualified, skilled and competent regulated health professionals. So as the\nregulator of the midwifery profession, we have important outcomes to achieve,\nincluding ensuring that midwives registered with the College possess the\nrelevant knowledge, skills, and behaviours to provide safe, ethical and\neffective care; and taking action when risks are identified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The framework describes the outcomes the\nCollege is expected to achieve in four broad domains: Regulatory Policy;\nSuitability to Practise; Openness and Accountability; Good Governance.
