Notice of By-Election

By-Election Nomination Period Closed

Nominations for the College’s Board by-election closed on April 11.

Call for Nominations

The College of Midwives of Ontario will be holding a by-election from May 12, 2025 to June 11, 2025, to fill one Professional Director position.  The term for this position will last a duration of three years.

The deadline to apply for nomination is April 11, 2025.

The College’s Board makes regulatory decisions in the public interest.  In order to make decisions truly reflective of the interests of all Ontarians, we require the expertise and perspectives of individuals with a variety of experiences that represent a range of communities.

We are continually working to increase diverse representation in the composition of our Board, with the knowledge that diverse perspectives and lived experiences strengthen the College’s decision-making capacity, performance, and accountability in carrying out its mandate. The College strives to ensure that the Board’s composition reflects a diversity of knowledge and skills, as well as being representative of the diversity found in the midwifery profession and the communities midwives serve. We hope that all registrants consider running for election, and particularly encourage midwives from Indigenous, Black and racialized communities, marginalized communities, rural communities, as well as midwives who are French speaking, in their first three years of practise, internationally educated, or practising in expanded, collaborative and/or community health team models.

The Board has made significant progress on our five year strategic plan. Read the Strategic Plan 2021-2026 to learn more about the key priorities and initiatives that the College is focused on as the current strategic plan wraps up.

The College is also committed to accessibility and reducing barriers to participation. If you require accommodation(s) to participate in the election process or upon election to the Board, please select the option to request support available in the nomination package.

If you’re considering putting your name forward, read below to find out more and consider attending our online election information session.
