Message from the President On Call Spring 2019

Note: This article was originally published in our Spring 2019 edition of our On Call newsletter, and has not been updated

Dear midwives,

I would like to extend a warm welcome to our new public members on Council, Marianna Kaminska and Judith Murray.

On March 7, 2019, by Order in Council of the Executive Committee of Ontario, Marianna was appointed to serve a one-year term. Marianna will serve on the Fitness to Practise Committee, the Discipline Committee, and the Quality Assurance Committee. On April 4, 2019, Judith was appointed to serve a one-year term on Council. Judith’s participation on committees will be determined at the June Council Meeting. Welcome, Marianna and Judith!

The College has finished its annual election cycle and the following three midwives have been acclaimed to their professional members positions on Council to serve for the 2019-2022 Council term beginning in October: Lilly Martin, Isabelle Milot, and Claudette Leduc. I look forward to working with them on Council to continue to achieve our strategic goals.

As International Midwives’ Day has just passed, I’d like to take the opportunity to reflect on the important work midwives do across the province and thank our members for their tireless work in ensuring that they are providing quality care to their clients across Ontario.

 Sincerely,

Tiffany Haidon RM

President
